Twenty-six-year retired United States Navy veteran. Author. Advocate. Educator. Community leader. A voice for veterans, adaptive sports, and the healing power of storytelling.
Charlene T. Williams is a twenty-six-year retired Afghanistan Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraq Freedom decorated United States Navy veteran whose life and work sit at the intersection of military service, adaptive sports, the rich historical traditions of the game of golf, and the healing power of community.
She served aboard USS Nassau (LHA-4), USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70), and USS Enterprise (CVN-65). A dual warfare-qualified specialist and Master Training Specialist, she is also the first female Sailor of the Year on USS Nassau — a distinction earned through extraordinary service and leadership.
Today, as Chief of Staff at Jim Beatty Golf Ventures LLC and President of C.T. Williams VETS Adaptive Sports & Beyond LLC, she channels the discipline and tenacity of her military career into advocacy, community leadership, and the written word. She is also a member of Move United's Access and Opportunity Advisory Council.
She believes — with the full weight of personal testimony — that golf can save lives. It saved hers. Her books give voice to the stories that too often go unspoken.
A deeply personal memoir that goes beyond rank and discipline to reveal the unseen weight of strength. A window into the cost of endurance when no one is asking if you are okay — grief, pressure, faith, and survival woven together in silence. You don't have to wear a uniform to recognize yourself in this story.
Through eighteen lessons inspired by experiences on and off the course, this book uses the game of golf as a lens for life, faith, resilience, and personal growth. Each hole tells a story. Each story carries a lesson. For veterans, golfers, and anyone navigating the back nine of a hard season.
A deeply personal and emotional work centered on loss, love, grief, resilience, and the lives forever changed by cancer. Dedicated to loved ones, this book confronts the hardest chapters of life with honesty, faith, and the unbreakable belief that even in the darkest seasons, something remains.
The memoir that started it all is now coming to Audible as an unabridged audiobook. Experience The Sadness Beneath the Uniform in a powerful new way — hear the story of duty, service, and survival told as it was meant to be heard. Stay connected for the release announcement.
Every book, every speaking engagement, every adaptive sports program carries the same conviction: that sharing our most difficult stories creates the space for others to heal.
"Beneath the rank, the discipline, and the appearance of resilience lies a truth many carry but few can name."
CT Williams Publishing exists to give voice to those stories — from the battlefield to the fairway, from grief to grace — and to remind every reader that even the strongest stories deserve to be seen and heard.
Championing the wellbeing of those who served through storytelling, adaptive sports, and community leadership.
Believing in the transformative power of golf for veterans, minority youth, and adaptive athletes alike.
Writing that breaks silence, builds bridges, and invites readers to recognize pieces of their own journey.
A deep faith life that informs every page — the belief that purpose can be found even in the darkest seasons.
Golf is not just a game — it is a mirror, a ministry, and a map back to yourself.
"He or she who says that it cannot be done, overlooks the one who is doing it...ME!!"
Charlene T. Williams is bringing a fresh and powerful voice to golf literature — one that honors faith, family, and the fairway in equal measure.
A trailblazer who served her country with honor and now serves her community with purpose — on and off the course.
Williams exemplifies the spirit of the game's highest traditions, championing diversity, access, and the transformative power of golf.
"Hey Senior Chief, finally finished the book — must say I was highly impressed. It made me think about the struggles my father had to face. I'm proud to be able to call you my friend, as well as being proud of what you have accomplished." 💯👍🏿👏🏿❣️🙏🏿
